Our school expands its educational offer with the Modern Music Program, a three-year course designed for students who wish to experience music in a contemporary, creative, and engaging way.
The project is developed within the framework of school autonomy (DPR 275/1999) and in continuity with D.M. 201/1999 and D.M. 176/2022 concerning lower secondary music programs. Its goal is to provide a solid and structured musical education, enhancing contemporary musical languages and ensemble performance.
Instruments
- Electric and acoustic guitar
- Electric bass
- Drums and percussion
- Piano
Each instrument class has a limited number of places to ensure high-quality teaching and personalized attention.
How the Program Works
The program lasts three years and complements the regular school curriculum. It includes:
- One weekly individual instrument lesson (30 minutes);
- Ensemble lessons in a “band” setting;
- Workshops focused on improvisation, arranging, guided listening, and the essential use of music technology.
Ensemble playing is at the heart of the program: making music together helps students develop technical skills, collaboration, active listening, and a sense of responsibility.
Instrument study is subject to assessment and will be included in the annual school report.
Educational Goals
The Modern Music Program aims to:
- Promote musical culture through genres such as pop, rock, jazz, and contemporary songwriting;
- Develop technical and creative skills;
- Strengthen transferable skills such as concentration, teamwork, and problem- solving;
- Enhance the school’s role as a space for cultural production and sharing.
The school also collaborates with local music and cultural organizations for concerts, events, and orientation activities.
The Modern Music Program represents an innovative and high-quality educational opportunity, bringing students closer to music through instruments and styles that resonate with their interests, within a structured, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
